    seizing up

    "He's seizing up" Does that mean he can't move because he's been exposed to a grueling training programme.

    That's one of its possible meanings. It can also mean "He's stopped speaking", as in a stand-up comic who's forgotten his jokes, or any speaker who can't continue because of anxiety.
    In fact, you could use for it for anyone who is literally or figuratively seizing up for any reason. But you'd have to supply the context.

    It was a TV show about US combat divers. Guess in that context it meant not being able to move. But thanks for explanation
