    Smile sentence

I am confused by the sentence as following.

*The boss was a rational person and discovered that the woman had a talent for singing.

However, someone suggested me it should be corrected as:

The boss was perceptive and discovered that the woman had a voice.

    (1) Is "a rational person" acceptable ?

    (2) Is "had a talent for singing" acceptable ?

    (3) Does "had a voice" mean "had a talent for singing" ?

I'm assuming you want the two halves of the sentence to be logically connected. Reasoning (being rational) is something you do solely inside your head. To judge whether someone is a good singer, you have to use your ears. Use of the sense organs is perception.

    (2) Is "had a talent for singing" acceptable ? Yes

    (3) Does "had a voice" mean "had a talent for singing" ? Yes
