Linking Verb or State of Being Verb

In the sentence, the time is 10P.M., is the verb "is" a linking verb? I am confused because it seems to answer the question when which would make it a state of being verb. Please clarify. Thank you.

If the constituent after 'is' answered the question 'when', would that mean 'is' can't be a linking verb in that case? No! Linking verbs can be followed by adverbials (SVA; V = copula), which is not the matter at hand, though.

What is the time?
the time is that, 10 pm. Nominal! :up:

When is the time? :down:
The time is 10pm.

In
The time is 10pm.,
'is' is a linking verb, a copulative verb, a copula.

Could you please give me examples of a linking verb followed by adverbs. I thought they were only followed by adjectives or nouns.
