I noticed that in some message boxes, the Windows operating system says something like:
"Please wait while we defragment the disk..."
Is that natural and common? I would have thought that past progressive is more natural after the word while. "Please wait while we are defragmenting the disk." If it is natural, is it limited to operating system contexts?
Also, is it natural to say this?
"I watched the film from 5 to 6 pm."
(instead of "I was watching the film from 5 to 6 pm")
Thanks! If they are both natural, then I wonder which is more natural and when would you use one instead of the other?
