    Plural/singular

"He discussed the social, health, and educational roles of sports."

I'm wondering if it would be incorrect to write "role" instead of "roles."

    Thanks.

    Re: Plural/singular

Three things, so three roles. I'd definitely use the plural there, myself.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    Not a teacher.
    It would, I think.
Even after "of" is a sigular noun.
" Four general roles of a team leader "
But I am not 100% sure.
