The cat jumped off the chair.
I know this is correct but is it correct if from is used instead of off ?

i f not then what sense t he sentence will make if we say_

The cat jumped from the chair.

I read in children's rhymes _ Off to school ___ where it means going to the school.
where can we use off. :-|

Yes, you can say, "The cat jumped from the chair", but 'off' is more common.

"from" can be used to say things like 'The cat jumped from the chair to the table.'

A...How did the cat get on the table?
B...It jumped from the chair to the table.
