    major in

A person might be majoring in applied linguistics. Can we say that school "majors in" teching languages? If not, what would be a word for it?

No. As a student, you can major in a subject, but the school does not major in the teaching of that subject.

"The school specializes in teaching languages."
"The school is primarily focused on teaching languages."
