    how to say this vividly and briefly?

    Only after the boring and dull training can people get the joy of some things, such as playing the violin, dancing ballet and mastering a language.

    Please note I'm not a teacher nor a native speaker;

    practice makes perfect - it might not exactly has the intended message but it's the shortest cliché that came to my mind.
