    sentence prference

''Since evrything had been done they went to a local bar to cut loose."

    OR

"After everything was done they went to a local bar to cut loose."

Would you prefer "was done" to "had been done"? Which is better to use "since" or "after"

    Neither is better.
    .
Since everything had been done, they went to a local bar to cut loose.
    .
The first part of the sentence gives the reason they went to a local bar to cut loose.
    .
After everything was done, they went to a local bar to cut loose.
    .
In this sentence the emphasis is on the sequence of events.
I like the first sentence better. More information is given.
