    Hello. "My favorite tree is the (or an ?)oak". Should I consider this case as generalizations and use the? Like, let's say in this sentence : "The computer has revolutionized publishing" Or Am I confusing things?

    I'd say, "My favorite tree is oak." No article. You don't say, "My favorite fruit is a mango," right?
