    position of adverbs

Where should I place the adverbs when answering comprehension questions? For instance, the given question is "Where have people been doing research on sleep for thirty years?" Should my answer be "People have been doing research on sleep for thirty years in sleep laboratories."? Or should it be "People have been doing research on sleep in sleep laboratories for thirty years."? Please help me.

    ~not a teacher~

"People have been doing research on sleep for thirty years in sleep laboratories."

^It sounds better. If you use the second one, it sounds redundant.

Thanks. And what about this one?
"Q: When and where was the first calendar invented? Ans: It was invented more than 2000 years ago in Egypt." Is the answer grammatically correct?

It is generally a good idea to put time adverbs at the end of a sentence or, if you want to give them importance, at the beginning of a sentence; rarely in the middle. But in this case you are effectively repeating the question before providing the answer and so it sounds more natural to repeat the whole question and then provide the answer as you have done in the first sentence. The second sentence sounds more natural if you do not consider it as an answer to a question but simply as a piece of information.

It really doesn't make any significant difference except that again your answer could be a little conditioned by the question which asks first "when" and then "where".
