suggest to sb to do something

The other day, while reading Lafcadio Hearn's Appreciations of Poetry, I found this sentence: I should again suggest to you to observe the value of the theme of illusion, espeacially as illustrated in our examples.
To my knowledge, this expression should be corrected to: suggest that you (should) observe or suggest your observing.
My question is: Is it also correct to say:suggest to sb to do something?

The original version is correct but your version is a more common way of phrasing the idea these days.
