    head and neck call

    Dear all,

A doctor says “I was on head and neck call at Petaluma Valley Hospital."

He tells about a homicide accident.

What is the meaning of "on head an neck call"?

    Thanks.

It means that he was available to be called to duty as a head and neck doctor (probably a surgeon) at that hospital.
