    phoentics

    Dear all,

Can you please recommend me some phonetic sites for begginers?

I want to "teach" someone the phonetic symbols like /ʃ/ and stuff.

I have started but I would like somebody with more experience to recommend me some really useful and fun stuff

    games - songs

I'm going to teach an adult - a friend of mine.

    Thanks a lot.

    Re: phoentics

I wrote a couple of worksheets a while ago - though some of them are tied to a video CD that came with Market Leader Upper-Int, so they may be of limited (if any) use. I'll look them out. (But I had a minor disaster on the back-up front recently, so may have to scan in the paper copies I've kept).

But what you're looking for is presumably a source of more than one or two work-sheets. birdeen's call may have something more useful. Wait and see.

Can't thank you enough. I'll be waiting. I'm working on some sheets, though, but I need more help.

    Thanks.

    Re: phoentics

Something to keep you going: S&Tblurb.doc explains the idea. The two other doc files [now there are three - see PS] summarize the contents of 16 [24] 'families'.

(There are 8 jpeg files [12, but it's of academic interest as they're not attached] depicting 8 cards each, representing the two sets - one for -EI- and one for -OUGH (RBP - so no good for Am E); but I'll have to get a dispensation from Red5 to allow me to upload them.)

I haven't tried these out, so caveat emptor!

PS I've just added one more doc file - for -IE- sets

    Re: phoentics

Thanks a lot. If you can find me songs, I'll really be so grateful. All the phonology songs on google are not free. or you can suggest me something to download; something may be not for teachers but you know that it can help (u know better than me for sure)

    Thanks a gain.

    Re: phoentics

I've attached a png file to my last note; it shows one member of each 'family'.

    No songs, I'm afraid.
