    Cool my way

    Hello!

If I'm lost. Will I ask my way or for my way?

    Thank you
    W

    Re: my way

    "My way."
For example, if you're asking a person for directions, you would say "I'm lost, can you please help me find my way?" Or if you are late for an appointment because you got lost, you might say "I'm sorry I'm late; even though I printed out the directions I still had trouble finding my way here."

    Cool Re: my way

    Thank you.

Is the phrase "ask my way" correct? Is "for" necessary?

Excuse me Sir! May I ask you a question?
    Yes of course.
I've lost my way. Can you give me a hand, please!
    Certainly.
Please tell me how to get to 245 boulevard?

    Re: my way

Both "ask my way" and "for my way" sound awkward if you're referring to directions and getting lost, to be honest. While actually sociliting help, you wouldn't refer to it as "asking my way" or "asking for my way," you would say "I asked for directions" or perhaps (if you want to use "way") "I asked him to point the way to...".
