Question "...to be debted in Sb.."

    Hi,
Would you please tell me if this part of a sentence carries any meaning?

"...any progress in technology is debted in researches and,..."

    Thanks.

You can be indebted to somebody (please take the trouble to write out the word in full).

Your sentence does not make sense to me.

Thanks a lot. I just quoted the sentence. I asked about it because I'd never heard so. Thanks again.
