I won't lose no sleep all night

    Howdy!

what is the meaning of this sentence?

I won't lose no sleep all night

Does it mean that ''I will lose sleep'' or ''I won't lose sleep''?

    Thanks very much.

Logically it would mean "I will lose sleep: or "I will lose some sleep (but not all of it)". I suspect, however that this was uttered either by a non-native speaker, or by a decidedly uneducated native speaker, and that the intention was to express: "I won't lose any sleep."

    I'm not a teacher.

    Hi Nathan Mckane,

Knowing the popular connotation “to lose sleep over” = “to worry a great deal about” I suggest the following interpretation of the key sentence "I won't lose any sleep":

    “I will have a good night’s sleep.”

    Regards,

    V.
