    Exclamation MPs

    Hello there

Police to challenge MPs on guns.

    I can't understand this sentence.
Could you explain it to me? What does MPs stand for?

"MPs" are "Members of Parliament". (The) Police (are going) to challenge Members of Parliament on (the issue of) guns. Presumably the legality or otherwise of guns.

    Re: MPs

That was my thought, too - Military Police. Maybe the local police force doesn't want the members of the military police force to carry guns in their local municipalities.

Another example of why we need context!
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
