Whats the best method for correcting a students written work?

Could you recommend any books/websites/videos/tutorials?

I like to keep things simple, that is deal with one mistake at a time. And also I don't correct my students' work; instead I point out to them where the mistake lies and have them correct it themselves (either individually or in pairs).

That's an interesting link, and I know many successful teachers who follow that advice.

I found, however, that many of my learners wanted to have all their written mistakes corrected, or at least pointed out. If their attention was not drawn to their mistakes, they felt they were losing an opportunity to work on them. If the learners themselves want correction, then I feel strongly that we should provide it.
