    intend to

I was watching an American series "Blue Bloods" about NYPD. One o the officers in episode 5 says,"Could we have "the day untill tomorrow" untill the bomb intends to detonate?" Can we use "intend" with a piece of device?

Yes. It is as if the bomb has its own mind and is choosing when it "intends" to explode.

I might say this about computers or any high-tech device that would possibly have ''its own mind"? How about this one "I don't know when my computer intends to crash"?
