    Hi all,
Are these words used interchangably? Is "bursary" still used in contemporary English? Thanks in dvance.

    Re: "Bursary" or "Scholarship"?

Bursary is not a word I have encountered in my life as an American (except for a technical use having to do with financing of oil).

    Re: "Bursary" or "Scholarship"?

Bursary is still used in Australia and in British English too, in the context of a university scholarship. The more general word "scholarship" is far more common however.

A "bursar" is the treasurer (person in charge of the money) of a university.
