Smile Need help in a sentence!

The first fifty years of life are dedicated to building one’s legitimacy while last fifty are devoted to building one’s legacy.

In this sentence, I want to know the meaning of legitimacy and legacy.

legitimacy: validity, correctness. In this quote it seems to mean you “prove yourself”, show that you are a real, complete person.
legacy: what you leave behind - in this case, what you leave after you die. It could mean your reputation, your achievements, your family, or something else.

I think the quote is saying when we are young we worry how other people see us. When we are old, we worry how people will remember us.
