Patrick Steptoe, had perfected the tricky noninvasive surgical technique of laparoscopy and could now use it relibaly to retrieve mature eggs from his patients...

What does it mean by "noninvasive" here?

    Re: noninvasive

Laparoscopy does not involve large incisions. The laparoscope is pen-like in shape, and it's usually placed into the oral cavity or into a small incision. Noninvasive means, does not involve large incisions.
