    verb tense

I was trying to mention this sentence and I didn't know the tense of the verb excel that I should have said:
"I told her that she would feel great if she (verb excel in the future tense)"
    Any help is appreciated

"I told her that she would feel great if she excelled." - conditional
"I told her that she will feel great if she excels." - future
