Dear teachers,
Would you tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
For years she had told him how beautiful he was and now he could not live without flattery. It was the only chink in his armor. (W. S. Maugham, “Theatre”)
a chink in somebody’s amour = a weak spot, foible, a tender spot, heel of Achilles, a blind side
Thanks for your efforts.
Regards,
V.
