Hi everybody! I'm coming here after a long time, but not after a "very" long time actually! I've come here to know about an English idiom which I'm sure exist but I'm not being able to recall it. I know the context of the idiom which I'll explain it here. With the help of my suggested context, you have to guess and tell me the idiom ;-) . If you know the idiom which fits into my context or anything which comes closer to my suggested context, even closely, then please share your valuable inputs about it in this thread. Thus is the context: suppose somebody is trying to solve or trying to fix a problem where it doesn't exist.

In case you understand Economics this the actual context for which I would like to use the idiom: a central bank is trying to contend rising inflation by monetary measures like raising interest rates "continuously" while ignoring the demand and supply side aspect completely. When the problem actually is with demand side. So what actually Central banks folks are doing? There are trying to fix things where the fault doesn't exist. Hope this will give you some idea!
