    twin car

A car with government plates stopped next to a police car. The guy rolled down the window and started talking to the police officer.

Danny, a kid standing nearby saw the whole thing, then the narrator of the story says:

Danny's gaze drifted to the twin cars and then back to his friend.

    ---What does "twin cars" mean?

    Re: twin car

I assume the police officer and the government official were driving identical cars. Governments do tend to buy the same models.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
