"So a man can actually imagine himself smack-dab in the middle of all the wild and crazy action.'' "Smack-dab"=right?
... or 'smack bang'. In fact, come to think of it, Br Eng uses either or both words - 'smack in the middle', 'bang in the middle', or 'smack bang in the middle'.

I first heard 'smack dab' in an ad lib during the fade out of a Dusty Springfield song (In the Middle of Nowhere; she went to my sister's convent school, and I remember thinking - after finding out where it came from -'What's a nice Catholic girl like Dusty doing pretending to be American?' Of course, she was presumable copying the ad lib from an American original.)
