    Cool Comparisons

    Hello!

I've got a problem! I don't understand why, in the following case, we use the comparative instead of the superlative...

"The 2 sisters were speaking. The elder said "I will wear my red dress. The younger said "I'll wear my blue dress".

    Can you help me?
    Thanks
    W

We use the comparative because we are comparing two sisters. If there were more than two, we would use the superlative.
"The eldest sister wore her red dress, while the youngest one wore a blue dress. The two middle sisters both wore green."
