    children-rearing manual or guide

What do we say "children-rearing manual", "children-rearing guide" or "guide to rearing children"?

"Child-rearing manual" or "guide to rearing children." I guess that what you'd call Dr. Spock's book, but these terms sound so industrial.

I delayed in answering this because it sounds like there is a correct way to operate your children.

I would just all them "parenting books" because they have tips on how to be a better parent.

It's not like children are beans or tomatoes, and you can be told that if you plant them in full sun and water them on a regular basis, they will turn out just right.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

I agree with Barb, but if you want to stick more closely to your original idea, I find bringing up a more appropriate expression than rearing.
