should be doubled, to about 750 billion dollars

    Hi,

    Question:
Why the sentence has a 'comma' before 'to' in sentence 1?
Any difference in meaning between sentence 1 and 2?

    Sentence1:
The G20, which represents more than 90 percent of the global economy, has agreed they should be doubled, to about 750 billion dollars.

    Sentence2:
The G20, which represents more than 90 percent of the global economy, has agreed they should be doubled to about 750 billion dollars.

    Thanks

The comma is optional. The 'to' phrase is adding redundant information, since the amount is already implied, ie. double the current amount.
