Which grammar tense is better?

Hello,
The last module test I gave today included some tricky questions I am not sure about:
Sam (not receive) ... the parcel the last time I (speak) to him.
I think - Sam had not received the parcel the last time I spoke to him.

When I (leave) ... my last job, I (work) ... there for four years.
I think - When I left my last job, I had worked there for four years.
Is it OK to say - When I left my last job, I had been working there for four years. - I feel the Past Perfect Continuous is wrong here.

I've made up my mind I (buy) ... this car. - I think - I WILL buy this car.

I've made up my mind I (buy) ... this car. - I think - I WILL buy this car. or: 'I am going to buy', or 'I am buying'. The compiler of the test probably thinks that one of these is better than the others, but in real life you can make an argument for any of them.

ps: even Teachers of English who are native speakers get hold of the published answers to published tests! It saves a lot of embarrassment.
