    Question Writing

My daughter and my step-daughter are both in fourth grade. One is being taught how to write reports with proper spelling, grammer, punctuation, etc. The other doesn't even know what a report is. Spelling only counts on papers that are part of the spelling lessons and half the time its wrong but not acknowledged. Her teacher doesnt want to take away from her creativity by showing her what she has done wrong. I have tried talking to her teacher but she won't budge on it. Is this something I should be concerned about or is this part of the new way they are teaching our children?

    Re: Writing

It appears that you are concerned. First, I would try to find out whether this is a school-wide policy or that of the teacher alone.
