    Cool Facebook status update

    Hello,

Suppose after a long time looking for a job I finally got hired and want to update my facebook status accordingly, which of the following would be the best wording:

    • Jobhunting - check
    • Job hunting - check
    • get a job - check

P.s: Your help in previous threads of mine has also helped me get it, so thanks y'all.

    Re: Facebook status update

Are you asking which of the three? Or are you proposing all three? If so, what is the difference between the first two?
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Yes i am asking which one of the three.
The difference is the space, meaning Jobhunting versus Job_hunting.

    Re: Facebook status update

If you have been hired, I wouldn't use job hunting.

    Why not?
Do you suggest using the 3rd one? Or maybe have a better wording?

    Re: Facebook status update

You are job hunting when you are looking for a job. When you have a job, you are no longer job hunting.

Your status would be newly employed.

    Re: Facebook status update

... though of course it's possible to be constantly on the lookout for something better! But in the case of a Facebook status update, to say you're 'job hunting' implies that you haven't got one.
