    hit until faints

    - If she saw a burglar in her apartment, she would first hit him until he faints, rope him or handcuff him and then take him to the police station.

    - Does this sound natural?

Thanks very much to Teachers and other members!

No. She would first beat him unconscious.

You faint from shock, excess of heat, loss of blood, etc.

    Re: hit until faints

She'd better not beat a burglar unconscious in the UK, or she'd be the one hauled away by the police.
