I should have gone to bed earlier last night.

    =
    1. There was an obligation or duty for me to go to bed earlier (but I didn't).
= 2. It would have been better for me if I had gone to be earlier (but I didn't).

If I am tired tomorrow, I will go to bed earlier than usual. There is a real possibility in my mind that this will happen in the future.

If I were tired tomorrow, I would go to bed earlier than usual. This is a possible futre situation, but it is less likely to happen.

If I were tired now, I would go to bed. This is a purely hypothetical situation. I am not tired, and I will not go to bed.

If I had been tired last night, I would have gone to bed earlier than usual. Once again, this is a hypothetical situation. I was not tired, and I did not go to bed.
