    sobs raking

If sobs are raking somebody does it mean something like "He/She is crying his/her heart out"?

    Re: sobs raking

I think it should be racking.

You talk about a dry, racking cough, where your body shakes and you hurt a lot.
If you are racked with sobs, you are crying so hard your shoulders shake, and you're in anguish.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
