YouTube - G20: Obama and the Chinese Reporter

Please take a few minutes to view a recent interaction between President Obama and a Chinese reporter. My question is about the reporter's words: I think I get to represent entire Asia.

What does 'get to' sound to you here? Do you take it as another way of saying 'have to'? Thank you.

No. It's a colloquial way of saying gain the privilege of.

'The best-looking boy gets to kiss the prettiest girl.'

I don't either- it's the reporter's role/privilege to do this and not an obligation. Have got to would be another way of saying have to here.
