    The eyes of mine

    Hi there!

Is there any difference between the following terms?

    The eyes of mine
    My eyes

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: The eyes of mine

The difference is that native speakers never say 'The eyes of mine'.

    Re: The eyes of mine

I know "the eyes of mine" is totally wrong. But the question and the answer remind me of some other examples. And I wonder if they're acceptable?

I vaguely remeber reading or hearing people say(when complimenting others):

Oh, those pretty eyes of yours!!
Oh, those large blue eyes of hers!!
    Are these two sentences acceptable?

I vaguely remember reading "those blue eyes of hers" or "Those slim fingers of hers." But rarely hear people say "these eyes of mine". Since Mr. Philo mentioned this, I assume "these eyes of mine" is acceptable too??

    Re: The eyes of mine

'Oh, those pretty eyes of yours!'

'Oh, those large blue eyes of hers!' (Use only one exclamation mark.)

    Are these two sentences acceptable?

    Yes, they are, pinbong.

I assume "these eyes of mine" is acceptable too? (Use only one question mark.)
    Yes, it is.
