    Cool outside

    Hello!

When are we supposed to use "of" with outside?

    It's outside (of) the house.

    Thank you

Outside | Define Outside at Dictionary.com

It's outside (of) the house. When "outside" is a preposition, "of" is usually omitted. (def. 18 and 19)
When outside is a noun, "of" is needed. (def 1)
When "outside" means 'other than', "of" is usually used. (def 22)
