Is it correct If there were ....would be doing this??

    This what I wrote

"We are desperate to have you stay. If there was anyway we could make this thing work, we would be doing."

Is it possible to change "would be doing" to "going to be doing" to show a bit stronger probability in the unreal future?

    Here's what I got

    "No.

'If there was any way (two words) we could make this thing work, we would definitely do it.'

Sorry for putting this question again.

"We are desperate to have you stay. If there was any way, any way at all that we could make this thing work, we would be doing it."

This one is part of a dialog from the movie "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock staring in it. Is this conditional grammatically accurate?

    Yes.

The difference is that we would do it has a future idea. There is a possibility, however remote, that we will do it.

We would be doing it has a present idea. As they are clearly not doing it, this is a counterfactual conditional.

Just to sum up "were going to" instead of "would be" is incorrect in the context?
