A puzzling multiple choice test question

Recently he bought a new laptop, _____ was very reasonable.

    A---of whose price
    B---of which the price
    C---the price whose
    D---the price which

What puzzles me is that I can't find any choice fit.

Re: A puzzling multiple choice test question

Can you make a start by definitely ruling out one or more of them?

I would say, ....., the price of which was very reasonable.

    But it was not there.

You would be right to say that. None of the given options is acceptable IMO.

I'm with you. Maybe "for which the price" would work, but "of which the price" does not (to my ears).
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Well, I was taught 50 years ago that of which the price was fine, so I imagine that's what the test writer wants.

    It certainly sounds strange now.
