    Does anybody know what does the expression "Howee!" mean?

    Is it slang or is it colloquial?

    This is the complete sentence written by the colleague Munch:

    Howee! Why must you gentlemen conform, hmm? Why not turn to these peasants, look them in the eye and say "The hell with conformity!"

    Context: An excited man is shouting to the police officers (LAPD) that have come to arrest him (it's the scene of a movie). He doesn't know them.

    Sorry, I don't know, perhaps it's American or Australian.

    I am pretty sure it's american english, because the film is produced in the USA (in the 60's) Maybe itīs an old fashioned expression. Any american in this forum that can help us?
