    dead-end wall

    Hi

Have you ever come across a phrase "dead-end wall".

A certain guy was in a mine. He didn't see anything cause it was dark.

He put out his arms again, trying to gauge the width of the shaft here. He touched what he believed was the dead-end wall, but nothing was on the other side. He kept moving to that side, but nothing was there.

    Re: dead-end wall

I have not heard "dead-end wall" but the meaning seems clear.

A “dead-end” is an end of a street or passage, where you can go no further and must turn back. So the “dead-end wall” would be the wall at the end of the passage.
