I've studied (both) Chinese and astronomy ?

If you want to make it clear that you have studied Chinese as well as astronomy (but not at the same time) is this the way to put it : "I've studied both Chinese and astronomy", or will "I've studied Chinese and astronomy" do ?

The second could more easily be interpreted with the idea of at the same time, so the first is better for you. Even so, the first could be taken to imply at the same time. If it is really important to convey the message that you studied these two at different times, then you'll have to say so.
