    crown or crown of his head

    hi

    I wonder if it's OK to say: Rain drops were falling on his crown or should we say crown of his head?

    But if it's understood that no crown is involved - as we're not talking about a king - would "crown" still cause confusion?

    I would wonder why he was wearing a crown, but would assume crown as in king's crown.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
