    Difference?

    Hi there,
    What's the difference between these two sentences:
    1) A few years ago, people would have said no to ebooks.
    2) A few years ago, people would say no to ebooks.

    In the first, ebooks didn't exist. In the second they existed, but people kept saying no.

    Tdol, I've needed some time to get it; But at length I think I did.

    A few years ago, (if e-books had existed) people would have said no to e-books.
    A few years ago, people used to say no to e-books.
