    on the back of....

    Hi there!

    Have I made the following sentence correctly?

    That's the way they promote their products. They try to sell their new cars on the back of slamming their rivals' cars.

    No, I wouldn't use "on the back of".

    It's OK but I would more simply replace "on the back of" with "by".
