    paraphrasing of one sentence 3

    Dear teachers,

Would you share with me your opinion concerning the following sentences?

When the dirty dishes had been taken from the table after dinner the family gathered before the fire.
When the dinner was cleared away the family gathered before the fire.

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

Re: paraphrasing of one sentence 3

    The second version is preferable.

I would say it more simply:

    'After dinner the family gathered....'
