Thread: Christamighty

  1. purple

    Hi Teacher,

Could you please tell me what does speaker B mean?

A: "You could find something better than than. I could give you a part-time
    job here. "

B: "Christamighty! I wouldn’t park myself behind the cash box if you are to
give me the whole dame place, lock, stock, and barrel."

    Thanks a lot.

    Re: Christamighty

He means: (Jesus) Christ almighty! It is a mild oath, but some people consider it blasphemous. I wouldn't recommend you using it without being certain of the sensitivity of your audience.
